Just read the 944S2 long term (ha!) test -having owned one for a couple of years, thought what a load of bolleaux, particularly regarding the load carrying capabilities......

November French booze cruise (1993) -12 month old and 6YO; travel cot, baby buggy, coats for a cold wet Normandy, overnight bags for two nights, and two cases of wine on the return journey -no problem.......

2 cases?

Amateur!

We regularly did a week at Le Mans:
Tent
Gazebo
Clothes (for all conditions - it's Le Mans, anything can happen!)
Folding Table
7 cases of wine accross the back and a couple of cases of beer on the floor
(No 12MO or 6YO though - don't take up much space do they? [;)])

I drove back from Switzerland with almost all of the personal posessions from my apartment stuffed into a 944S2 and still managed to crack 150mph on the Autobahn.

Mind you, I can fit my paraglider, harness, boots, helmet, instruments etc. into the front of my Boxster.

Agree, 1 weeks stuff for sailing holiday for wife and I last week.

And had room for lots more!!!

I'm currently in progress towards owning an s2. Well got a few people coming to look at the Williams anyway. If you hold on I do get relevant to the thread [&:]...

...so can you get a pushbike in the back with the wheels/seatpost etc off or will I be getting lifts off mates?

2 years ago I went to Le Mans in a Turbo with my mate. We had a boot "full" of our gear plus pair of mountain bikes on the roof, until a now famous incident with a French supermarket car park walkway roof.

I can confirm that you can fit 2 bikes, half a roof rack and gear for 2 people to camp for a week in the back...

I agree. If that is the same article I just read, I also did not like the quote that said something to the effect: "Let's be honest, we all would rather have a 911."

And what is it with all of the cars in that magazine that have different brands of tyres in the front than in the rear? Don't they know that all four tyres should be the same make/model?

I've always been told that as long as the type/rating are the same you should be OK - but always the same tyres on the same "axle"
