Looks like a nice car for somebody http://www.maxted-page.com/cars/car-details.aspx?id=192 although cant see a full cage in it...its described as Clubsport.

Part of a Collection for sale.

Nice car!

Surely much confusion!?

It is clearly not a clubsport and being a '97 car unless delivered late, you would expect it to be an Evo with 450bhp and the K24's.

I'm not saying it is, just that the ad may perhaps be a little vague?

Is it the car that was previously mentioned here at hexagon? That was also at Clive Sutton.

I do know the car is black at the top of the following thread, but a silver Hexagon car is mentioned by BruceG.

Apologies, it was originally supplied in '96, so that makes it an original alloy door car with the X50 engine upgrade making it correct at 430bhp.

ScottR, I am always happy to learn about these cars, but for a car to be a CS, I previously understood it would have to have tell tale signs, such as a fully welded Fia approved Matter cage, lack of carpets, extinguisher and a battery cut off on the dash amongst other more technical aspects not immediately visible to be a true M003>

I know my own m003 has these features and I recall VicC's sublime M003 GT2 had exactly these visible features which do not appear in the photos of the silver car I am able to view.

As far as I am aware, only the Australian market, managed to bolt a full cage in and call it a CS.

Are you sure it is possible to bolt a half cage in for it to be an M003,CS, or has someone converted this CS back into an M002 spec lightweight?

Asking £275 k .........dont understand any of it
agree every word Clubsport said

ps Bog off Scott , were u an invited guest [:D]

Looks like the dealers have just got a little mixed up in their description....Maxted Page are not exactly renowned for their knowledge on 'modern' stuff (nor allegedly for correctly preparing legal reports on 73RS's for that matter...[:D][:D][:D])

I wonder how much would they lop off the price for it not being a Clubsport. Anyone looking for a Clubsport will know this does not look like a CS.

Initially I quickly read the description, noticing the "R" plate as in from Aug '97, which is when the car most likely came into the UK rather than date of build. Funny how the DVLA rules for not making a car appear newer than it actually is could be got round so easy back then.
Not that it would likely make much odds to a GT2 being newer or older, unless it was an Evo or not.

Love the Gt2 being described as a "modern" Porsche, with a description like that, you have to assume they are looking for a "modern" buyer who would take their word at face value and not have much idea themselves?

I have heard nothing but good things about MP and their reputation clearly precedes them, but with an attention to detail like that their proof reader could work on Top Gear! [:D]

Compared to most of what they sell and deal with day to day a 90's car is modern for MP.

Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for them. They are great guys very passionate about Porsche and have stocked some amazing cars.

The 73'RS' comment was just toungue in cheek for those who know the story...the one time they got it badly wrong imho.

Wish I was the guy who had this 'collection' that's being sold...some seriously nice cars!!!

I remember the car for sale, nearly bought it to get back into a gt2.Nice car,not seen for a long time.
Steering wheel, clocks! wind up windows, looks like no air con and the top mount castle nuts are open like the clubsports.
As you say clubsport a T chassis, how does it get a R reg.
Lots of money
