I have just bought a version 2 GT2 does anyone know of any know problems that I need to keep an Eye on.

Also what do you guys feel the long term residual will be on these cars do you think it will stack up as well as say the 993 RSR, 993 GT2 etc.

Thanks

Thanks Maurice

Yes it was a 996 I payed 70K, not being a millionaire it has been a big investment for me I just like the idea of owning and enjoying it (so long as it is not raining ,then it just becomes a weapon) and then selling it in 5 years for not to far of what I paid

I really like the 996 GT2, but it wasn't well received when new, they didn't sell many, and residuals fell out of bed. However, at current price levels, it could be a very good buy.

If you recall, the 964RS wasn't well received when it came out, didn't sell that well and suffered significant early depreciation. Ten years later, it started to enjoy increasing recognition and, having been produced in relatively small numbers, values started to rise as its popularity increased. Much the same could be likely for the GT2.

I've noticed a damaged/repaired one appearing in PP for a number of months, anyone know the story behind it?

I don't know the story behind it but about a year ago one was for sale with Universal Salvage Auction it was a CAT C write off and to be honest it was only good for parts, I certainly would not like to try and drive after it had been repaired. I would guess it probaly the same one.

On another note I bought a 964 cab about 3 years ago from universal and repaired it by the time I replaced all the parts STOLEN off it between the time I bought it and the time it was delivered (plus the extra Damage caused by careless handling) the whole project was a financial nightmare.
