I recently drove both of the above and can't find the balls to buy the RS! Alrthough I have medical insurance this is subject to an excess and does not cover mental health. Many have apparently gone mad in the RS leading to dementure and premature back problems....so the soft old gt3 gin palace it will be with cup holders and multi cd changer...now let's see where is my Best of the Carpenters........

Try the local Shepherd. He's bound to have some spare. Probably chewed them off this morning! [:D]

Sounds so you have made your mind up already. The RS is absolutely fantastic (as is the GT3) but I think you will have more fun in the RS & of course still be as quick!

The Shepherd was otherwise engaged, but many myths and black magic with unearthly supernatural powers surrond the RS too spooky for me guys......now where is my Saga Insurance phone number gone.....

I was at Castle Coombe on Saturday chatting to a very nice chap called Nigel who has, amongst other things, a Caterham R400, 964 RS and a GT3 RS.

He brought the R400 as it was a quiet day and he had decided to sell one of the 911s - guess which? The GT3 is going ......... obviously quick, he just enjoys the 964 RS more.

Ask yourself what you want it for? As for the bad back etc it is nonsense. I did over 800 miles in mine over the weekend and I loved every one of them.

You can always buy a GT3 when you grow old (er??) [:D][:D]

Regards

Hi Yoda,
It was good to meet you at Castle Combe last Saturday and you certainly looked to be peddling the RS well!
With regards to this debate...... For all round fun per ÂŁ its got to be the 964RS, a hoot on the road and fantastic on the track.

I agree john so useable. I must have done a 1,000 miles over the bank holiday including a track day at bedford. the car is just so pure & will scrap with the best of them

Shaun

Glad to see you're enjoying it.....I'm with the majority of you on this....I find the car one of the most enjoyable and comfortable cars that I've had the pleasure of.

The seats never make my dodgy back complain unlike cars that I've had where the seats adjust in so many ways and even include air conditioning for the nether regions (probably useful when a passenger with Des)

mine has a funny way of draging me back.....it caused my bad back but now the only time my back doesn't hurt like hell is when I'm in the RS.....and at the moment it is a matter of principle on the GT3 front.

Dont take any notice of that lot!

We are now in the 21st Century.... They probably hanker after the days when aircooled ruled.... remember back then???

You can't beat a nice bit of aircon and some very nice cupholders - not forgetting a modern interior, decent brakes and lights that let you see in the dark.

I bet they all have valve amps and a fine collection of vinyl at home.

You made the right choice......

Think I'll go and hide for a bit....

Funny that, I have a large collection of Vinyl and won't touch the silver discs. Same goes for the water cooled variety of Porsche. Less is more.

Vinyl sales are on the increase and you can get most of the new releases again.. The kids love them as the quality is superior to digital formats.

Same applies to old Porsches. Try buying a good RS. The hand made quality is better and they are in great demand!

964 RS,s are going up in value together with fantastic driving surely it is an easy decision

or buy both & be done with it !

Yes the GT3 is great fun, Doris and I are going on a second honeymoon, such is the potency of my new GT3....now where are those jump leads?........

You lot are a real chuckle, but still a great crowd, you just need a little care and understanding....

Hi Richard

How are you doing? How is your Doris? Keen to see the new look your car is sporting this season with your new quiet exhaust. Hoep all is well.

Regards

Yoda, Hi mate,

All ok, usual situation, engine out , etc. etc. doing a few tweeks as I do...

Look forward to our next meet,
Regards Richard.
