GT3 RS

my first porsche! i have placed a deposit for a new RS and was hoping i could get feedback on best place for insurance (age 36 full no claims no points) and whether the car will hold its value? thanks in advance.

First place to try is the specialist insurance brokers in the back of the club magazine (Porsche Post). Also the addverts in the back of 911 & Porsche World, and GT Purely Porsche (mostly the same brokers in all 3).

Some give a discount to Club Members if that gives any incentive for joining[;)] One gives membership with the first years insurance.

Other companies to try include, Direct Line, Elephant.com Tesco, and American Express.

All have been flagged as giving good deals in the past.

Where do you live? Be sure to take the car along to your local region and let people see it!

Good luck.

Congratulations on the new car, straight in at the top end with your first Porker eh, great car. you should also post in the GT3 section where all the "GT" experts loiter !!
As the RS is limited supply it should have excellent resale value, even though it is really a specialist track day car, so depreciation shouldn't be a major issue, certainly better than the already good 996, Boxter etc.
INSURANCE Aside from the usual guy's that advertise in Porsche Post there are two very specialist brokers that do a lot of work for OPC's & aren't well known, but can give good premiums
1/ CHEAM INSURANCE....020-8649-7617
2/ A PLAN INSURANCE....01494-677776
Let me know how they compare, we found them to be MUCH better than the rest !!

thanks guys, i still havent got a confirmed date for delivery but apparently im 5th in que at porsche reading. porsche ins services quoted 1800 pounds. any information would be welcome as this will be my first porker, hope its gonna be good!

Performance Marque have quoted me £1,300 and this includes business use. You will need to budget for a Tracker to be fitted though as its a requirement of all insurance companies on this model.

Incidentally I would be surprised if Direct Line would quote on an RS? I thought that they preferred sensible family cars only!

OT, but a twenty YO lady just bought my old Frod Kak, fitted with alloy wheels as standard.......Direct Line refused to insure her because of the alloys!! She's now with Tesco's. And since you asked, £600 with two years NCB!!
