Hi All
I am after some advice.

A friend has a 986 and was wanted to have his GT3 18 inch sport design wheels refurbished. He has been told that because these are split rims they may not be able to seperate them because the bolts are sometimes difficult to undo, if this is the case they will not be able to refurbish them.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or is it best to buy another set of wheels instead of having these refurbished?

Thanks for any advice on this, it will be appreciated.

Kind regards

Andy

They are very difficult to split and someone without the correct tools / experience should be cautious. The last thing you want to do is break the bolts connecting the two halves.

I think the right answer is to find somewhere more familiar with wheels of this type. There are a lots that advertise in PP.

Thank you for your reply, it is appreciated. Yes, they said that if they break the bolts the wheel is basically finished, as drilling the bolts out is difficult.

I will take your advice and have a look in PP

kind regards

Andy

I had my GT3 design wheels refurbished a couple months ago. Whilst I was aware of potential problems there fortunately was none. Its a great looking wheel on the Boxster though cleaning them is a pain!

Having spoken to my friend with the GT3 wheels, he is asking if anyone has a good set for sale as he would be interested in buying another set rather than having his set refurbished.

if anyone has a good set for sale, please let me know, it would be appreciated.

kind regards

Andy
