Missed the picture!

Unless you want to get airborne you should not fit any rear wing to a 911 without the correct front splitter.

I have also bought the original GT3 frontbumper!

Provided that wing was manufactured for 997 fitment, I don't see a problem.
You will need the car's electronics re-programmed to select fixed rear spoiler option. This will stop the diagnostics nagging you that there is a problem with the retractable third brake light. Porsche Centre charged me £30 for this 5 minutes of customer service!

Thank you!
Where did you bought your wing?
Does it only take 5 min to reprogram the electronics?
Did you use your standard harness?
Pictures?

Hi

Do I need to install the black panel (see pic) on the GT3 lid from my current lid, or is it just for the rising wing??

Is it true that this could be a problem?

You should get the front splitter/ Rear Aero as a set and fit them together.

The Rear aero does create down force, without a carefully matched front spoiler and splitter that will create a greater degree of down force then what will happen is the already light front will get lighter and the already heavy rear will get heavier - Quite a risk of the front getting too light to get effective grip and steering on the front at speed...........

If they are a matched design then overall down force front and back is higher at speed giving the car more stability and more control. Normally there is a bias to give slightly higher front down force to aid turn in and reduce bounciness at the front hitting bumps at speed. I noticed an improvement in front stability and steering when I fitted mine.

The two obvious choices are a) an OEM or TUV replica 997 Aerokit b) An OEM or TUV Replica GT3 Aerokit. Any reputable manufacturers Aerokit should be fine if TUV approved, so Cargraphic, Manthey etc are fine.

Just make sure you fit the whole thing, front and rear before using it. [:D] Then enjoy

Joafog, it's difficult to see from the pictures you posted, but it looks like all of the cut outs for fan, air inlet, etc, match up on both lids which leads me to think that the part you have is the decklid/spoiler of Carrera Aerokit and not GT3. In this case all of the ancillary items should bolt straight on to the new lid, so yes, you'll need to refit all to the new lid. This wouldn't be the case for the GT3 lid, the ancillary items are in slightly different positions and therefore the air box wouldn't line up and the lid wouldn't close.

I'm using a Hamann aerokit, which is not shown in my avatar picture.

The complete package has TUV approvals etc. so no worries regarding aerodynamic imbalance. The rear wing retains the original deck lid and simply bolts on in place of the retractable one, which is not the case for your's.
The black panel in your picture includes the rams etc. for lifting the original spoiler and will not fit or be required. You will need to refit the engine fan assembly and associated wiring. The other part of the wiring harness will have to remain but neatly tied back and secured.
And yes the re-programming only took 5mins, long enough to plug in the Porsche diagnostic laptop and press a few keys!
