GT4 Undersealed?

Please forgive a stupid question. Can any GT4 owners please tell me if the GT4 is undersealed please? I had a 997.1 GT3, which had 'body in white' only and I did not use it once salt and winter grot was about.
Thinking about GT4, but want to make more use of it.

Thanks,

Del,

I don't think that you'll find any European-spec car that doesn't have some form of underseal compound applied to the underbody and your GT4 is no exception.

Plus, the 981-series monocoque body is a combination of galvanised steel and aluminium and also it's well protected by the painting process and by the plastic underbody shields and wheel arch liners.

Just get out and use the thing...!

Thanks both for your input, particularly Jeff! Story is had a GT3 for 6 years and was in love. Sold it for a number of reasons, but sort of regretting it. Bought an ex demo 981 Cayman S. Really faultless and fast enough in everyday use as long as you keep the revs up, but it isn't a love affair, and have a hankering for more . Head versus heart issue as usual. Bottom line is it worthy circa £45k extra?!

Watch this space!

yes , well worth the extra if you ever set foot on a track day, it feels nothing like a 981 Cayman or a GT3, it's really a car on it's own and feels very GT built.

better car than a GT3 imo.

I have a GT4 can from a Cayman R. It is worth every penny. Unsealed should not be an issue as if has an aluminium underside.

Thanks for that. Lots available from OPC's at the moment.

Need to get the thinking cap on! I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!

not many good spec ones left at the lower prices , all the nicer ones have sold imo and as more sell the poorer spec cars are left.

OPC's have sold 22 in the last 2 months.

the cheapest car with, buckets seats, leather, Carbon and PCM is now £97k

All the £87 to £95k car in that spec have gone.

I agree with Mr D ... The GT4 is under priced and starting to rise ... Its a better car than the 997 Gen1 GT3 and maybe the Gen2 997 - its sits on its own ... Its the cheapest GT car you can buy with the best Gear box, the Best Seats, modern Nav and Mid engined ... I would grab one now before the Spring if i was you as they will be sure to rise at that Point .... Lets not forget that the current GT4 may be the first and last N/A GT4 ever made by Porsche, so get in why you can! My OPC are sending me emails needing to add GT cars to stock and capitalising on mid winter period when most cars are just sitting in the garage ... This has to be a good sign [:)]

They also know this is the best time to buy at low prices to build up the spring stock hence rising trade prices.

GT4 prices have most definitely bounced back already from end of year / December lows!

wait till the GT3 is launched with NO manual.

So many GT4 owners flipped for ££££ and are very upfront saying they will buy a manual GT3 so took the money while it was good because a manual GT3 was coming.

A lot of these people will wish they kept their GT4 imo and might even buy back their own cars.

I am still sure a manual GT3 will not happen, but as 99.9% of the market says there will be one and lets face it the car is finished and will be released within a month, it's one of Porsche best ever secrets to date.

I will either look a like a hero, as I have been saying it for months on PH and getting a right slagging, or just be shocked a Manual is launched and swallow the false prediction , but no issue on that, if I am wrong I am wrong that's life.

but a manual GT3 badged car, mmmm any one want to bet me ;-)

what is funny is a few people on PH are now also saying no manual GT3 4 months after I said it, so it's odd a few people are now saying this also.

Thanks again for feedback and information. Agreed about prices bottoming right now. Decision will be made before end of month. Watch this space.

One other concern is that I shared a garage at Brands GP circuit track days twice last year, and both had problems with drive by noise testing and were black flagged. One had attenuator made up at nearby industrial estate, from memory the other driver had to give up for the day. If I cannot use it on track, pointless getting one........a very expensive mistake!

just get a slip on made up, no pleasing every one, some say the car is to quite, some say to loud, Porsche cannot win.
