Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating Detail on a Porsche Boxster S

Hi all,

I thought I’d do a little post/review with pictures on the recent Gtechniq detailing work I have had done to the Boxster at DDB Detailing. We all love our cars in the club so I thought I’d share my experience and the results.

Dave at DDB Detailing has been looking after my car for the past three winters and his attention to detail is second to none. In 2014 DDB Detailing became a Gtechniq accredited dealer, so I decided I would explore this option this year. For those not in the know, Gtechniq offer probably the best cleaning/detailing products on the market and some truly revolutionary solutions for paint protection for our beloved cars, especially if they are used all year round.

I called Dave and we discussed the various options open to me. As my car is garaged, Dave suggested that the Gtechniq TSP detail which included the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating was the way to go. This entailed a deep clean of the all the cars surfaces including wheels, wheel arches, door shunts. The roof, interior, glass including the carpets were also treated and sealed as part of the process. After the car was cleaned it was machine polished using Gtechniq products and then the ceramic coating was applied and left to cure for twenty four hrs before having the final machine polish.

I dropped the car off with Dave at 8.30 on the 24/10/15 and picked it up after work on the 26/10/15. I was expecting great results but when I saw the car I was blown away; the car looked better than new. The deep shine on the bodywork is amazing, smooth to touch without any imperfections and no swirl marks in the paint; like I said, better than new. No wonder the Porsche garage are sending all their new cars to DDB to have this done!

The best thing about the treatment is it is guaranteed by Gtechniq for five years. All I need to do is clean and dry it down. DDB also offer another treatment for cars that live outside that has a seven year guarantee.

Please see the pictures below of the Boxster when I picked her up, I’m sure you’ll agree it looks stunning. The price; £350 including vat; a steel for keeping your pride and joy in tip top condition.

Hi Mark,
Looks fantastic, as Phil said above, looks brand new. Looking forward to checking it out the next time I see you

It would be great to have a garage that size, instead of the small ones they build on houses these days.

Hi Mark
that exhaust tip looks great. I don't know what they used on it or if it is a new one but that's a top clean up job.

Hi Steve,

It's the original Exhaust tip, I believe DDB used one of the Gtechniq products and then it was sealed.

Cheers
Mark

Lovely looking Cayman and great colour. You're spot on, he is the best in the North East and a cracking guy.

On another note, that JDM white Civic Type R behind yours looks very nice. My wife and I were/are huge Honda Fans, as well as Porsche fanatics of course[:)]

DDB going to be doing the Spyder before collection.
Have used him before and a good job was done then.
Been told it will take two days to fully complete.

Great news! Mine took two days as well.

Please bring the Spyder to one of the meetings when you get it (when the weather is better of course). I'd love to have a look.
Cheers

It is on the boat over from Emden at the moment so hope it is not too long before I get to see it.
Will see how the weather is in January for bringing it along to meeting.
I work away so have not managed to organise myself to go along to one of the monthly meetings yet but this should help motivate me.
cheers
Peter
