GTS On Order - April 23 Price Increase

My understanding is not. I ordered mine Jan last year and it arrived Feb this year. In that time there were 2 prices increases (not that big) which I was hit with. Also some minor changes to the standard build. I actually then got some knocked off when I finally got the car to offset it.

Ultimately I think it’s dealers discretion as I’ve heard some people have had a guaranteed price. I’d confirm with the OPC and get it in writing

I have a GTS on order and a build slot of late May.

Am I protected from the price increase I now see on Porsche UK website?

It’s my understanding that the price is only fixed when the specification has been locked down. So before then you have to pay the new price.

I have been given a production completion date of 26th May. Would that mean my order has been locked down or is that not necessarily the case?

if you have an allocation and you have locked in your spec with a build date confirmed before the price increase, I think you are ok.

Best have a chat with your OPC to see what your own situation is, most of us who have experience long lead times have been impacted in similar ways and this is seldom explained or made clear by the sales team at time of initial enquiry.

As always, a good place to start is the contract you signed at time of order. I've always found those quite explicit about price changes. At least you then know your starting point in terms of discussions with your OPC, and whether they are sticking to whatever your contract says or something better/different.

Hi All,

I thought, and please those with more knowledge correct me, that I read on a similar post that the price increase is now for MY24 cars.

So if your build happens before 1st August you are still MY23 and the price increase is not applied? This seems to make sense with the current lead times in that you are unlikely to get a 718 ordered now before 1st August. But I may be putting 2 + 2 and getting 5.

Obviously I have a vested interest in this as I have a May build slot, not sure of the lock off date and do not want to pay the increase ideally!

Thanks,

Read through my Order and terms and conditions twice now and can't see any reference to price rises.

I think if you've got a signed new vehicle order form then that's what you will pay.

Looking back at mine, I signed mine December last year.

Contacted my OPC for an answer, signed the order form in late Jan after they confirmed 'allocation' earlier in the month. But car went into scheduled for build on the app 4 days after the price announcement, not keen on paying another £5k would feel as if I had been tucked up, fingers crossed.

I think if you‘ve a signed order that’s the price you will pay.

I wouldn’t hold much stock in the app. I got a proper update from the OPC and the app was very behind. The car was at the dock in the UK waiting for collection when the app said it was scheduled for production. Amusingly the app said it was being built when I was driving it around.

Thanks for the advice, that's nuts the car is 'being built' and your running around in it:ROFLMAO:.

I've been on the 718forum and the US seems to have a 10 stage app on order progress.
