Guarantee and Maintenance Book

I have room for one more service stamp in my service book and thought I had nothing more difficult to do than order a new one. I should have known better, these are now out of print and Type 911 advise me that Porsche do not hold any stock and do not know when they will have. Porsche's advice to Type 911 was to order one and wait. I have placed an order with Type 911 and wait with baited breath.

I presume that when Porsche have enough back-orders they will order another print run. So we don't have to resort to asking servicing garages to stamp bits of paper stuck into out service books it might be an idea if anyone with only one or two stamp spaces left contact Type 911, PC or their normal parts supplier to request a new book. I don't know what numbers Porsche would need to justify a print run but would have thought that if they print a generic 993 one rather than the year related ones we currently have it would not be too many.

These would certainly do the job, but don't look the same as the original one that came with the car (unless they're just showing a generic picture).
Mine is a silver covered, stapled booklet.

several years ago someone made up a templet of the book on an Adobe file
if you give me your email address i will forward

i have just purchased a new service manual for my 1988 930 Turbo. The Exeter OPC got it for me in 3 days.

The Porscheshop ones appear to be generic rather than model specific, i.e. covers Porsche models from 1986 to 1998. Or maybe the 3.2/964 one "stretched" to suit 993s also? Whichever, I don't deal with Porscheshop anymore after a piece of absolutely appalling customer care I experienced with them about a year ago. Or I should say customer total lack of care.

I think it's only the 993 book that's problematic, okay for a 930. You can tell by the daft prices that ones from USA go for on Ebay that it's a real issue.

I've got just under two years until it become a real issue but I would rather it was resolved sooner rather than later.

Not sure I would bother if you can't get one. A receipt documenting the work done is fine by me.

I also have a 14 year old car with every annual stamp in the book from a Porsche centre. So I am also fast running out of space[;)]

Not sure if I would settle now for a receipt documenting the work [:(]

You would like to think that with a Porsche Centre service record like yours they would give/obtain a new book for you !!
