Guards Red codes

If it is the same as black (if you see what I mean [:D]) then I think you will find the shorter code is the original (oil based) paint and the longer code is the modern environmentally friendly water based equivalent - and supposedly the same colour. But hopefully someone with a paint colour book will be along to confirm.

I need to buy touch up paint for my 1984 944 Lux. Are Guards Red codes LM3A and G1 the same colour?

I need to get a touch up kit too so let me know where you find one ;) I'll be on guards red too

Many thanks
Andy

I'd guessthat very few cars originally painted in Guards Red will have exactly the same colour on any panel now. How much more does it cost to get a proper matched paint sample?

Good point Paul. Mine was resprayed not too long ago so guessing a 'new' paint kit should match ok

You are probably requiring LM3A which is the paint code. G1 is Porsche paint colour code.

However there are four versions of Guards Red/Indishrot.
