Guards Red

Hi

looking to replace the 2.7 with a brand new 2.9 all boxes ticked aprt from Bose at the OPC (although I mainly listen to news on the comute)

Colour is Guards red which I like although may not be to everyones taste. Is this a popular colour?

should I be aware of anything before signing on the line? The deal is good as far as I can see.

Just go for the colour you want ...nothing to do with anyone else they are not paying for it!! .I have Speed Yellow and love it ,Guards Red would be my other choice .Enjoy your new car
 
Who are you buying the car for? Oh yes - YOU Go for the colour and spec YOU want [:)] Look forward to seeing the new car at a register event [8D]
 
I had guards Red for 16 yrs on my 944 turbo and loved it -saw a boxster in it with dark interior and it looked great to me and easier to manage than many metallic's so go for it,depreciation will not be significantly worse such after major purchase, good luck
 
Nick ..you are indeed a brave man choosing that colour ,in some areas in Scotland you would not be safe driving down the streets[:D][:D][:D] I like it ....your car looks stunning in your profile page No matter what colour you chose it is always the wrong one when it come to trading it in ...sir you should have gone XYZ
 
And take the salesmans advice with a pinch of salt.... "Black is a good safe colour for when you trade in Sir, things like Yellow just won't sell pre-owned" 2 years later... "Black?, ah... Can't give so much for that Sir, we've got lot's of Black - now if it had been something like Yellow..."

..... dealer instruction book page 101 "Never tell the customer he has a rare colour during trade-in negotiation" .... Now I am just waiting for the same excuse [:D]
 
I've had my 987 for 22mths, I wanted Black and the wife wanted Guards Red, so we have a stunning Guards Red Boxster S. Everyone I speak says how good it looks and how it shines (clay bar & Zymol annuanly) So glad I didn't get my way as I'm told Black is a nightmare. Go for it, I've no regrets Steve
 
You say all boxes ticked so trust that means you are going for PASM and 18ins, a much more difficult decision than Guards Red, a great colour. Standby for torrent of posts about PASM......

I was / am [:D] seriously considering Natural Red Leather next time around but have been warned off by several OPC that this is an impossible colour interior to shift and would have seriously bad affects on the residual I recently enquired, on a friends behalf, about an ex demo being sold with lots of boxes ticked including full Natural Red Leather/Arctic Silver and asked the dealer if that was not a hard colour combo to shift ...he said no not at all Arctic always wanted and the Red Leather makes it something really special :ROFLMAO: In the end one has to buy what they want I guess and certainly not what the salesman wants you to buy otherwise we would all be driving PDK's [:eek:][:D][;)]
 
Thanks for the replies everyone.After posting I went of to see the car in the flesh so to speak and I have to say Guards Red is stunning! The black interior and soft top sets of the red to perfection and I was sold! Have signed on the dotted line and collect it on Monday - cant wait. I will post a few pictures once I get it home.
 
In all honesty I wasn't too keen when I first saw my one listed on the dealer website but when you see it in the flesh, Guards Red is stunning. Earlier this year I was talking to an OPC principal who says that the trade is seeing a trend away from metallic grey and silver cars as the market is awash with them - no longer are these colours the preserve of premium brands and even police cars are now silver. Apparently, residuals are far less dependent on colour now unless you are talking about something silly like pink, mint green or beige. Having a car with a decent specification, a full OPC service history and an obviously caring previous owner, is far more important.
