H&S exhaust now on

Loud? I'll say, but only when accelerating, when cruising it's barely loder than my standard system was. The best bit is in tunnels and under bridges, boy can you be a hooligan if the mood takes you.

It appears to have freed up some horsepower and it feels better under acceleration, but we'll let the dyno tell the story on that one soon.

I was surprised at the weight differential, heaving the parts about the guys at ETA commented on the difference. The old system is a fairly heavy piece of kit, so anyone looking to save weight on their car, don't forget this area. The old system is now up for grabs if anyone needs a serviceable unit.

Well I'm off to find some more open roads!!

Had mine fitted last year, the note changes when it gets run in, not sure why, but boy does it sound good now.

Just got back from our regional WOTY in The Netherlands. The guys following in convoy said it sounded awesome when wound up - like a racing car, but not too loud when driving normally. Best bit was on the return journey, taking the scenic route avoiding Antwerp. The Westerschelde Tunnel is 6.6kms long. That's along way in third gear, very childish.[:)][:)]

Had mine dyno'd (before and after) at Weltmeister. 223bhp to 246bhp...... that also made me a happy boy.

Hi Nigel,
Pls can you let me have some more details of the system you have bought, did you have a cat on your old system , if so were there any other mods you had to undertake. I have an 89, 3.2 and will require a new exhaust sooner or later and am considering H & S, any tips you could pass on pls.
regards. Gwyn.

There have been no mods made to the car at all. There was no cat on there beforehand, 84 coupe. The exhaust has made some differences to the running, moved the mid range out from it's previous band, plus say 500 rpm top and bottom is how it feels!
But it's worth getting just for the noise in 3rd!
I have to say the quality of the workmanship is great, it went on really easily.
I can recommend Ian at H&S thoroughly if you want someone to speak to there. He has one on his car not surprisingly, and can advise as to noise level etc, which they can adapt to suit. It cruises very quietly I have to say, the noise is all in the accelerative stage.
