Had my Cayenne stolen last night!

Had my Cayenne S stolen last night from outside my house (I'm in Cheltenham). Funny thing is they have stolen it without the keys or breaking the glass (unless they tidied the glass up). I suspect its professionals - the Police said it will probably be taken abroad.

Anyway, its a 2005 Black S with Black interior and air suspension. Reg C15 KAS.

Thats terrible[&o],hope all goes well with the claim and that the insurance company play ball, always argue with them if their first offer is not to your liking, hope you get a replacement sorted soon.

Unfortunately not!

I always tend to avoid these add ons (after all I've never needed them in the past[])

As the car is probably now in Russia I'll have to start looking for a new Cayenne.

It has got me thinking though that I might just get the V6 this time. My V8 was appalling 13-18mpg. Heaven forbid with the price of petrol I might even consider a Touareg or a Range Rover. I'm also concerned that as I've been hit once they might come back again for any future Porsches.

My car didnt have a tracking system, but I will make sure there is next time. I'm not sure I even want the car back, but I had my kids car seat, puschair etc in there along with my wallet and jacket so it would be nice to get those back.

Good News[:)]

I've just has the police on the phone to tell me that my KN has been discovered about 2 miles away. By all accounts its not too badly damaged. The windscreen has been put through with a brick and there are some scratches to the bonnet and some scuff marks on the wheels.

It looks like it was just some toe-rag going on a small joyride.

I'm really pleased. Particularly as I was dreading what the insurers would offer me on it.

Eh?
How did they do that without keys?
Hope it isn't too badly damaged. The Police opinion of "not too bad" might not square with yours. [&o]

2 miles ![8|] doesn't sound like joy riders to me. I suspect they tried to tow it and gave up.
glad you got it back but it will never seem the same again after that.

If your wallet has been taken, make sure that all of your credit cards etc. have been stopped. Even if they are returned by the police.

And ask the police to check all local CCTV cameras and fingerprint the car. You never know, with a bit of effort they might catch those responsible.

Why would they (Police) bother.. they probably weren't speeding [;)]

Glad to hear its back, interesting to hear how they did steal the car ?

I feel sure they'd not be too interested - In the past I've had a number of attacks on my cars. One time I got them to fingerprint but it was about 9 hours later and the guy left his wife in the car while he quickly brushed it over and told me to forget it. Another time I drove to the local (Altrincham) police station with no passenger window and a mucky half brick embedded in the driver's doorskin - A traffic car came out of the back while I was trying to work out why the door was locked and he said there's a phone on the wall to ring another station as this one isn't open until 9am.

Next time I have a problem I'll ask jamie theakston to pop round with a camera crew and the police helicopter!

Hello

How did they move a 2.5 tonne cayenne with no keys and in PARK ?

Someone must of had a key or something as alarm would of sounded as soon as car was moved/lifted...

And it would of made some noise as it was been dragged with the rear wheels locked in park..

interesting question [;)]
There are only a few people with sufficient information and or spare/copy keys.

Previous service or sales garages, previous owners and for information like car details and address etc ,insurance companies. Also anywhere that you would leave your car keys where they could be copied

In Phillips other thread on the same topic, he stated that "...the spare key was left in the vehicle...", so this might have been a case of an opportunist thief breaking into the car looking for valuables, finding the spare key and making off with it. Said tyke was obviously a bit of a dipstick since the car was found abandoned rather than sold and shipped abroad.
