Hi All,

I've been advised that I need new Hand Brake Shoes for my 1968 912.

Can anyone recommend what type they are - standard VW Beetle - Part No??

Cheers

Dan

The handbrake assembly is common between all pre 1968 911 and 912 . Part number of the shoe is 901.352.906.13 4 required

Thanks Nick

I've tried DSF for that part number and it isn't coming up on their system.

Do you know where else I could get them from or another part no?

Thanks

Dan

Hey Dan

Is that the Dan I know - Tom's brother??

Hows the car? I have heard since you brought it?!

David - AKA Chickbok AKA Alison's ex!!!! AKA its a small world!

Hi Dave!!

Small world indeed- i thought acutually when I saw the picture of the white porsche on other posts it might be you!

Well I got the 912 we talked about after all - back in January last year - thanks for your help and advice by the way! The first few days were a struggle as it was about minus 5 and it was the only car I had at the time, few broken keys in locks! Decided it was more of a weekend car and kept it in Shrewsbury at my parents place for when me, Tom or Will would ever go up there.

It didn't get much mileage so decided to bring it back to Manchester as I now have a garage. I get to take it out maybe a couple of times a month - still not alot but Manchester has never seen anything like it!!

Cost wise it has been fine, just a few quid to pass it's MOT and the engine is holding up - touch wood. These handbrake pads are the first non-regular maintenance on it, but I've found them now for only £39. THANKS TO EVERYONE!

To top it all the PCGB north west hold their monthly meetings downstairs where I work at the Deanwater Hotel near Wilmslow! I've not been down yet but should do.

Well the car is having a trip down to London as Will, eldest bro is having it over the summer! He's as much a novice as me so you may get a call. I'm sure Tom has your number still.

Good site this though hey!

Dan

Dan, welcome!
