Hand Brake Switch

Can anyone advise where the swicth for the hand brake warning light is located? I was following directions in the Haynes manual but I think this is for a mush earlier car. I assume I'll need to remove a seat to access the removable panel in the heater control box. If so which side?

Thanks!

Hi Les
Bentleys manual says the parking brake contacts are located on the hanbrake bracket, rear.Any use?

Thanks Ian. Not sure yet. It looks like I need to have a ferret around with the heater control box fully removed. I think both front seats will need to come out for that!

I must get myself one of those Bentley manuals...

Les.

Greetings
Having a good nose at my '85 car, you only need to remove the drivers seat. That should give you good access. And yes the bentley book is a good thing to have lurking on your shelf.

I didnt get a chance to look at the weekend (hangover put paid to that!). Hopefully with the long weekend coming up.... I also won a copy of the Bentley manual on ebay yesterday.

Had my car MOT'd a couple of weeks ago and it too flew through. What a great feeling that is!

Ian, all sorted this weekend. Easy with the drivers seat removed. I now realise that when the various manuals state 'remove passenger seat', they are referring to left hand drive cars [:)]

Cheers for that tip Les
As my motor is LHD and I need to look at the cabin temp control between the seats, you've probably just saved me the hassle of removing the wrong seat!
