Handbrake issues

this weekend i removed all wheels and cleaned them and also removed centre console to paint handbrake and gear gaitor.

Put everything back no problem wenyt on a 200 mile rally on sunday and still everything fine.

Today released handbrake drove down the road and th park brake light and warning light illuminated. When i went round corners it dissappeared.

i suspect the connect has come loose near the handbrake but the question is

is there a sensor that indicates excessive wear on the handbrake shoes that i need to investigate.

The park brake does not illuminate when i park up and pull handbrake up?

Any advise welcome cheers.

No - I don't think there is any pad measurement/warning - the light is just based on a simple switch in the area around the handbrake lever - from memory you can see it if you remove the plastic panel around the lever/the coin tray behind the lever - I'm sure I've seen it in there.

Sound like you just knocked it out of position when you were doing your painting.
