Help please! I need to get the handbrake working to get an MOT. I am based on the Herts/Essex/Cambs boarder any ideas on someone to do this & cost?

Has it siezed up on not holding. If not holding you could try and adjust it by undoing the screw in the bottom of the chubby hole in the consol there will be a aliuminium u shape with adjusters on it just don't tighten them to much. Try just take up the slack if any. If that doesn't work you've got to do it by take of the rear discs I've just changed all mine with new shoes and adjusters. Took me a day and I got my parts from design 911

If you don't want to go down the DIY route, try Autostrasse in Coggeshall, Essex. We have used them for our 996 and previously for our 3.2 Carrera. They are knowledgeable and pragmatic about what does and doesn't need to be done.
