Do you own a 968..???
Are you doing ANYTHING with it, other than polishing it.??
Have you, OR are you going to have a "adventure" with it..???
If so, it would be nice to hear of your antics...
As you can see there is a SMALL minority that are actually using there cars as Porsche designed them for...DRIVING / RACING them....[:D][;)][:D]
You dont have to be into the track - racing lark, have you done a mamoth drive across europe ?? Etc Etc Etc ...
Or is it that this minority are just a bit sad for putting up reports of there antics....
Anyway, whatever, lets here from you .. Come on chaps... Get using your cars, lifes too short ......Summer is the time to get your cars out + USE them.....

Hehe you're not wrong Dave - they are meant for driving!

Haven't done that many miles recently, but I have got a massive European tour planned for mid September. Plan to go to Reims, down Route Napoleon, Mont Ventoux, then hit the French Alps, and then into Switzerland to drive all of the mountain passes around Andermatt (there's alot of them in that area) and of course the Stelvio pass. Then onto Austria to do a load of mountain passes (inc the Grossglockner) then up into Germany to visit relatives. Taking in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and the BMW museum in Munich (trator, I hear you cry!) may also try and get Spa and the Nurburgring in, if all goes well.

Been meaning to do the trip since I've had the car, but things have always got in the way....not this year, providing the mountain passes aren't covered in snow in September!

Went to Reims last week. Well worth doing, lovely city centre and the trip out to the old GP circuit is well worth doing. To my shame we didn't do it in the 968 though (just had to go roof off). We stayed in the Best Western in the middle of the city, big discount (1/2) by booking online and definitely a hotel I could recommend, if of course you are OK with that sort of hotel. We then went on to the Nurburgring stayed at Hotel Am Tiergarten, then onto Spa where we stayed at the Hotel de Ambleve in Stavelot. Wonderful little hotel, steam room, sauna then 4 course dinner and a nice bottle of wine worth every penny. We will definitely go back to that hotel if at all possible. Something I really loved about the Spa track is the way they allow you to just wonder about when there isn't a race on. They were setting up for the 24 hours so I got some good car pics.

Only downer I have about Reims is its just too expensive now, 6.50 euros for a pint is not funny. On our first night we ordered 2x steak and chips, 2x little beers and a 1/2 bottle of wine in one of the big local restaurants. It was average to OK at best but at 52 euros is just not funny. To be honest the crazy pricing in France these days has put as well off and we will explore Germany a bit more in future instead.

Pics to follow.

Errr.. well it's in bits 'cos summer is also my time for working on it as me old body won't stand winter in the garage[&:]

Now waiting for US bits to arrive in suitcase then should be a couple of weeks.

We are thinking about a run up to Scotland in sept time.
