Hard Backed Sport Seat Rattle

I have the standard hard backed sports seats and the passenger seat rattles when there is nobody in it
I know it's the seat release handles but can't seem to find a solution to stop them rattling other than have someone sitting in the seat!
I have removed the front of the seat to look inside but can't see a solution. Also how does the handle/knob come off?

Thanks

Graham

Graham,
I'm sure you are far brighter than me - but I'll confess a really stupid piece of diagnosis I did in the first few months after getting my car. Same symptoms as you describe - including no rattle if passenger present. Did same as you - removing seat to try to find what was wrong - spent most of a Saturday trying to get inside it. Out of the car I could not make it rattle. Gave up and put it back - rattle still present.[]

Took passenger out for a drive so she could climb around car trying to diagnose. Realised rattle only disappears, not with weight, but by putting on seat belt! Rattle was seat belt buckle touching edge of hard back seat.[8|]

Felt really dumb. . .

Hi Mark

I know it is the handles as I can hold either of them whilst driving and it stops. Just don't know how to stop the rattle yet!
If you release the seat so it rests it just before it clicks in there is no rattle but it doesn't stay like that when your moving! Wish it was the seat belt!

As it's sport seats you can peel of the leather and access them. Suggest looking on internet as someone will have done a right up.

Hi Gordon

I did peel back the leather to gain access but could really seen how to stop it rattling. On end of the spring just attaches to the lever. How does the knob on the end come off? Might be able to then put some black foam over the lever. Tried pulling it but didn't want to shift
