collect my hardtop next mon, i bought the 2 fitting bolts and 2 inserts from porsche but since my car never had a factory fitted hardtop is there anything else i need or will my bodywork be different? thanx

there shouldn't be anything else you need. except a safe place to store it during the summer when its not on the car.. they are very thin so easily dented.

colour/paint should be fine provided you have checked you've ordered the same paint code as your car.

I made my own storage system which means it is suspended in my garage roof safe and secure. If you want full details, let me know.

Regards

Phil

Made my own too - some 2 x 2 and 2 x 1 pieces of wood screwed to the wall, then some straps to secure to the rafters. cost about ÂŁ5

ebay is good, but I bought mine from the "for sale" section on here from a guy who was selling car and hard top. Talked him into selling just the top.

heres a picture of a Porsche design one it does need oles te right size and in the right place for the hard top brackets to lock into.
but it might give you a few ideas for design.

cheers helen, how does the top actually fit to the poles?

Gary, the ftwo prongs on the leading edge of the header rail locate into the slots in the lower rail (hence the rubber buffers arounf the slots). The spinlock pins on the rear quarter of the hardtop then locate in the elongated holes on the upper rail, and you use the handles to lock the top in place.

The Porsche H frame is secured to the wall by 4 u clamps, with 2 screws each.

Helen, you'll never sell that frame if you keep giving help [;)]

Anyone know a company that might be able to repair the heating element in a hardtop rear window - I think I may have scratched (& broken) the electrical connection on the bottom "line"? Net result - the whole thing doesn't seem to work.

No rush - I've got until October to get it sorted [;)]
