Hard Top, hardtop

Looks far from elegant to me - more like an eyesore !! What's wrong with the proper Porsche one that I and lots of others have ??

Budget - you may be a pensioner one day![:)]

Semi retired and moving to poole very shortly for the full monty!!!

Still not going to scrimp on the pride and joy !!!

Some things cannot be done on the cheap !! Porsche are just one !! But possibly for us here the most important one !!

I liked the look of these and found the wedsite about a year ago emailed them for price but never got a reply, just noticed they now have prices they didnt the last time i looked on the site

I remember phoning them in May a couple of years ago about 'Speedster Humps' which I thought looked quite nice.
The chap said he could not start to make them until the end of September (missing the summer) as he runs a water sports business in the summer.
There are several secondhand hard tops for 986 and 987 on eBay as most people take them off.
Only use is if you keep the car on the street and want added security?

The price appears similar to a used factory item, perhaps even a little more.

What £500?

I've never looked to buy one, but those that I've noticed have been £1200/£1500. If a factory item can easily be found for £500 I can't see where the market is for anything else unless you particularly want a different look, beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all that!

Hi,

Sorry for the thread hijack....

I've got a 986 hardtop in Lapis Blue sitting in my shed at the moment, beautiful condition with only a couple of stone chips which have been touched in. It's surplus to requirements for me as my 986 was written off 3 weeks ago (through no fault of my own). Looking to get into another Boxster but the likelihood is that it will end up being a 987, unfortunately I prefer the option of a car with a warranty from a specialist but feel I'm unlikely to find another 986 fitting the bill.

The hardtop wasn't on the car when it was damaged & I haven't got around to advertising it for sale, if you're interested then please let me know. I also managed to salvage the hardtop fitting kit from the car so can also offer that for sale too.
