Try ebay for a bargain possibly []ORIGINAL: tony gibbs
As an owner of a C2 Cab who hasn't yet had the hard top off. can anyone offer some advice about different forms of storage, or is the Porsche 'trolly' the best option?

I have 3 possible solutions . I have recently sold my 996 cab (with hard-top) and have a new 997 cab arriving soon without a hard top.
Consequently I have an Easy Hoist with electric control for removing and storing a hard top for sale at £500. It is about a year old and new is over £750. It will operate with only one person and is a cinch to use.
I have another much cheaper garage roof hoist purchased from USA which is on sale for £100 and a collapsable trollet to store the roof also for £100.
If you are interested I can email you photos etc etc.
my email is jsw@dr.com

A simple way of both storing and removing/replacing hardtop is building a wooden frame in your garage to house the hardtop directly above your 996, this way by lifting the hardtop in and out of the frame, always being assisted by 2 other people at least, and normally only once or twice a year, the scenario is simple and trouble-free.
Please feel free to contact myself for further information, I do agree it is a important subject and if space is restricted the selections trolley/hardtop holder can be a issue, the space above your 996 and garage roof is normally spare space.
Hope this helps
