Hard Top Storage

Hi folks
Now that the summer is here (nearly) I just wanted to seek the advice of fellow Boxster owners who have hardtops. What methods are the best for storing them? Wall hanging brackets or trolleys?

I have seen univeral trolley type stands on line which are considerably cheaper than Boxster specific ones. Are they as good?

What about covers. Can anyone recommend good covers for storing hardtops, again there is a wide range of prices out there.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

i got the branded cover, its ok but thin so more a dust cover than protection. there are some good wall hanging bags on eBay that look better. to be honest its really down to how much space you have and what you want to spend. mine spends most of the year leaning against the wall in my spare room!

I made my own hanging bracket so could store roof in garage - still with room to put car in, if necessary. There's one store via ebay that sells them for £50-ish.
Dust cover - an old bed sheet - just as good as a bought one at a fraction of the cost.

I have a Porsche wall mounting hardtop hanger for a 986 Boxster for sale. Send me a mail if you are interested at £40 plus delivery.

Just a quick update on this. Bought a 986 specific cover and stand from UK custom covers. The cover is well padded and offers good protection. There is also an option for hanging this from wall mounts too. The stand also appears to be well made.

Best of all, when assembled with the hardtop on it, the footprint is smaller than I had thought it would be and there is plenty of room in the garage for it and the car. At last I can enjoy top down motoring!!
