'Porsche Club Speed Championship - Harewood Hillclimb (on main Wetherby Road
1/2 mile east of Harewood House) - Saturday 18th Sept from noon.'

How many are going to this? Have we any plans to meet up?

James

I have my 'pass stamped' and am planning to attend however I will be coming from J39 of the M1, so hardly much use to you?

Anyone else from this neck of the woods planning to attend? Jeff, Chris et. al.?

See you Saturday.

I thinks James's 'Saturday 18th Sept from noon' gives a clue as to the start.....

Hope to meet you then!

[;)][:D]

That quote was from Chris Northern. I'm trying to plan my weekend, Friday night my car is part of the 997 launch at the OPC in Newcastle, then planning on bringing my 2 yr old daughter to harewood again [:D]

Just pulled this down from the Harewood website

The two events at Harewood Speed Hillclimb on Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th September conclude the season at the UK's longest permanent hillclimb. Each event has attracted a full entry of 150 drivers. The competitive action is scheduled to start at around 12.30 on each day, following practice in the morning.

Saturday is the Greenwood Cup meeting which has around 40 Ferraris and Porches competing, along with over 80 other road going cars. In addition over 30 single seater race cars will be battling for the honours. Saturday is the eighth round of the Mallory Park race circuit sponsored Harewood Championship, which has over 70 drivers entered.

Will be there on Sunday 19th to support friend's racing car.

Have you got any Chris?

Come on James, take the Porker.

I'm going in mine come rain or shine........ there's no salt on the roads just yet and you can always wash it when you get home.

Spent a couple of hours on Saturday with my 2 year old girl, watching the hill climbing / chating to friends & generally having a fun relaxing time. Shame I didn't bump into any R7 members.

James

Were you in the Porker?

Met Steve Humphreys around 12 noon in the car park and there were quite a number of 911's there including the silver late 993 3.8 exclusive badged as a Turbo that Andrew Mearns had for sale and was reviewed in 911 & Porsche World a month or so ago - now with new owners from Harrogate I understand.

I thought the racing was good - need to buy a 911 for the speed championship........

Here's one of the guys getting it a bit wrong - he should be driving left to right!

last time i saw the 'specialist cars of malton' it was spinning in circles then too [:D]

Unfortunalty couldn't bring the 911, had my 2 year old daughter with me & was heading off to a kids party later in the afternoon [:(]

It might be better if a place to meet was arranged followed by a cruise to the track

And during the spin he booted it (perhaps trying to get it across the line?), only to demolish the timing beam reflector and run into the gravel..... I'll post up more piccies when I get the time.

I'd be happy next time to arrange to meet up beforehand somewhere in the near vacinity - it was a pity that you didn't bump into anyone.
