Harewood Speed Hillclimb 3rd June

Hi all,

There's a good entry of Porsches at the Harewood hillclimb this weekend on the 3rd June (over 20). Definitely worth a look, and you might even see the odd Subaru! Info can be found on their website: www.harewoodhill.co.uk.

Didn't see you there Tracey - good day out - interesting orange boxster owned by Simon Butterworth - did a fast run first time but went spinning off on the second knocking his points back. Will have photos soon.

Hope to see everyone on Wednesday to discuss outing to Harewood on the 8th July.

Hiya Steve

This was my first time at Harewood in competition. It's an awesome course. My time was 73.82 and I improved four seconds over the day which I was happy with. My car's standard but fast enough for me at the moment while I'm a novice. My motto is, "I can only get better!" I had a brilliant day at Cadwell Park last Saturday, lots of crests and hidden bends - much thought needed on my approaches! I walked the course with two guys driving a formula 4, they were really helpful with lines etc. I'll be back again at Harewood in August to try and improve my time.

Thanks for asking... [:)]

Thats a coincidence Tracey. I was at Cadwell on Saturday getting sorted out for the Auto 66 bike racing on the Sunday. My mate came off first lap just after gooseneck which kind of ruined the day for us but he only sprained his ankle and a bit of plastic damage to the bike (I was spannering for him) but a guy who was with us and camped next to us came off at barn on the last lap of his race and broke his tib & fib and shattered his knee []. The bike had plastics damage and a nice knee shaped dent in the tank [:(]

Hi Neil,

Yes, the gooseneck was memorable for me! It takes you by surprise and then straight downhill to a 90 left. I don't wonder your mate had problems, every time the bikes were about to set off the heavens opened. At least I had some dry runs. I arrived on the Friday to thunder and lightening and torrential rain. We had more of the same on the Saturday. At one point I didn't think we'd get two timed runs. I think the next Auto 66 is at Elvington for bikes and cars. Might see you there. You can't miss my white Subaru with blue battle scares on the bumper. Some cones just jumped out in front of me!
