Can anyone give me a steer on which harness mfg was used for factory fit harnesses and views on availability on those and good alternatives

thanks

Porsche have been fitting Schroth harnesses for many years.
You can probably still get them from the OPC!

I have just fitted a set of SABELT five point including a crutch strap bought on the plastic from demon tweeks delivered next day. Red straps (matching interior) with very necessary shoulder pads. I have completely removed the seat belts and passed MOT. The original shell only provided for three point harnesses so you need a fixing for the crutch strap and another hole on the back shelf the other hole is already there on the back shelf. They are very helpful at demon tweeks and will go through the various alternatives, I had to buy a four point with additional crutch strap. Fantastic feel being at one with the car and saves you and the passenger being chucked around as well as looks and safety.

Not being pedantic (too much!) isn't the hole usually there in the rear shelf, but not the captive nut.

When Autofarm did mine (3 yrs or so ago) they seem to thing provision of these nuts was a bit of a lottery - some had one some two some none.

'Think Marks right, Schroth are the norm, mine are Willans (red too - to match the car or was it my eyes?), but have kept the standard belts - have heard of cars failing mot for non factory belts athough never had a problem on previous car.

Should be two hole on the back shelf, if you have none then could this be a much later end of run car?

I have Sabelt 6 point harness with patented quick release , these are good and available from Demon Tweeks , attachment detail depends on whether you have roll cage with harness bar, also will need mounting plate fitted to seat frame for crutch straps. Suggest you go to a place where they do race prep for best / expert advice and fitting.
