Hartech - warranty

Has anyone got the Hartech warranty?

I'm just about to go through a big service and thinking of the Porsche warranty renewal!!

But this seems an equally good option!

Or am I missing something?

RMS??!! Deep sigh! Should I be paranoid about this or not?? .. plus other bits!

Hope not as it looks very impressive!

I've been on it for 2 or 3 years now - there's no catch it's as good as you read it to be and I;ve always found them to be true gents to deal with.

RMS is a classic example of where, in my opinion, the scheme really is good - if you need it changing when you're on the plan the cost would be pennies for the seal and maybe a few quid if they replace the oil. As far as I know most of the cost in replacing the RMS is labour which you don't pay for.

I had to have a full engine out job to fix what I thought was a blown engine, which thankfully turned out to be a broken valve spring costing peanuts. I think the whole job came to a couple of hundred quid for the parts including replacement oil.

The thing that turned me on to it was that it covers wear and tear too. With my 996 coming up to 100,000 miles I needed a fair bit of suspension work doing a few months ago, I paid for parts only (and they are at a reasonable cost) I imagine the labour would have been hundreds if not £1k+ for the amount of work that was done.

To be honest I feel guilty sometimes when works needs to be done, which reminds me I need to book it in for a service which is due on 18/11, that's included in the monthly cost too of course!

Mines a 98 car so this will be its last year where it can have the Porsche warranty. Which everyone says have as it does cover lots and lots!!

The prospect of say £6K for major engine work would be a tough one to swallow sooooooo........!!

more and more appealing......

Guess I should read the small print!! Or the actual document first!!
