Never seen an interior this colour on a 996. It's not savannah I'm sure.
How did the options work, could you choose anything (if you were willing to pay?)

I like the colour more than most light 996 interiors but I'm not entirely sure 2 tone interior combination works well. I'd like it more if the dealer ever returned a phone call but there you go!

 
I haven't seen it either. Looks like Sand Beige or maybe Linen. Perhaps it was a special order, which would show on the options sticker (if you could get hold of the seller). I like it though.
 


One member of our Region has a two tone interior - he purchased the car second hand but my guess would be it was special order when purchased from new.

It gets a good press ie (wish mine had that comments) from our Regional members[;)]
 
It doesn't look to clever at the sides of the driver and passenger seat, Looks like it should have been stretched more meaning you would be right in your assumption.
 
You could ask the codes from the option sticker Re: "Richards comment".
Just to see if it was always 2 tone
