have I done this tensioner wrong (pic)

Got pump and both belts on, tensioned timing belt and then did balance belt but think I have turned it the wrong way and then tightened it down, i.e I went anti clockwise as it seemed to lessen the curve that the belt takes as it goes round bottom balance shaft pulley and then round balance shaft tensioner. When you look at photo it seem that when it is tensioned the eccentric part should be off to other side even though that make belt route more tightly curved. Am i correct in what I am saying and should I look at re dong it ot does it not matter. You guys that have done your won belts before, have I done this the wrong direction? Thanks for any help! In the pic its the tensioner off to the left at bottom, should the eceentric bit be other direction?

Hard to tell from your photo, but if the belts are all following the correct route and the tensions are right then I don't think it will make too mcuh difference which way you have turned the tensioner.

Make sure that it won't foul anything else when you re-assemble it all (covers etc).

Oli.

well I will turn it over by hand the morrow, it doesnt seem to foul anything. when you look at the pic you can see the tensioner (lowest one down) was turned anticlockwise meaning it is more over towards the left hand side, but when i looked at older photo of how it was on strip down in was off to the right (tensioned clockwise). So am unsure now, its prob wouldnt take long to redo, when i was doing it, it seemed that I was doing it right as it meant the belt took less of a tight turn when it was positioned like that, although it also prob means less of the belt contacts the lower balance shaft pulley. What you guys think, redo or stop worrying about it and throw car back together and try it?

Please don't get it wrong

See attached if it helps

I believe you want to turn the balance shaft tensioner the other way as there's a danger it'll rub on the water pump pulley as it is now. You'll need to adjust the idle roller to suit obviously.
