Have i got two heads or something?

Driving round in my '83 lux and its as if i have 2 heads. Everyone stares as i go past and young lads tell me 'like your car mister'.

If only i'd known about how cheap these cars were years ago. I love it more and more each day. [:)][:D]

I've seen a few other Porsche owners out and about and given chase to a recent carrera and a boxer (on a private road of course) and they both gave me the thumbs up.

I absolutely love owning a Porsche!

The 944 is the best kept secret of the motoring world... A lot of car for not a lot of money.

It always makes me wonder why people buy much lesser cars.

Its nice to see a fairly new owner still enjoying what will hopefully become an obsession , keep it up Will [:)]

Slap on some 18 inch rims and watch the chavs wander into lamp posts. Worrying on two counts:
1) they follow me home and swipe them for their Novas'.
2) The thought that I may have mini- barried up my car.

When you consider what you would have owned for the cost of a 944.....................mondeo,vauxhall etc the mind boggles!![:D][:D]
I love mine (944 I mean)!

Thats it.... i looked at a few other cars, looking at the 2k ish budget and decided initially on an ex fleet car. Looking as suggested the VW/Vauxhall/Ford possibilities and well they were all a little bland.

I ended up visiting the auto trader site and entering the details for a car valued between 1+2k and i notced how cheap some Porsche's were. I changed my selection and just looked at Porsches. A few days later i'd scared myself pulling out of the persons drive whom i'd just bought the car from and WOW!

I drove home.... 40 miles later and already was enjoying the car. A few weeks on and i absolutely love it. I'm going to spend a few pounds over christmas on the engine. I say a few pounds, i could almost expect a bill of £1000+ but shes worth every penny. One of those items in your life where you can happily spend money and get money back in pleasure rather than just hoping for money back when you sell it. If and thats a big IF i ever do sell it. [:D]

I bought my 944 and it has opened alot of intrests like the owners club and meeting new people with same car intrests as me.I have also been to some of the shows this year and enjoyed other porsches aswell.
If I havent used my 944 for a day or two it is great to drive again....Love it!!

Agree.

I tested drive a 10 years younger Jag XKR Cab before I bought my 944 S2 Cab.
The 944 maybe older but its got loads of characters and much better communication on the steering wheel compares to the XKR which feels so detached. Also, the S2 is not much slower than the v8 supercharged XKR on the straight and definitely much faster on corners.

I am glad that I bought the S2 and I like it more everyday. I have owned many cars in the past including a V12 Merc but I just didn't get that feeling I got from the S2.
