I have at the moment the cup/by pass system, but I need to quiten my car with a good performance system, obviously it will go for a remap ...

I have a twin outlet H&S cat-back exhaust - they measured the noise at 103 db and supplied a couple of bungs to knock off a couple of more decibels if needed. Not sure how they measured the noise but it passed the noise test at both Brands Hatch and Oulton Park without fitting the bungs.

Hi there ,

thanks for your reply, did you had it measure with a cold engine or fairly warm ( 30 mm on) ?
the cup/bypass is approx 108 cold and 105 warm

My friend has an H&S exhaust on his 3.2, its the loudest thing I've ever heard!

Not sure if that helps or not...

Konstantin, just to say that I always make sure the engine is warm before a noise test to ensure that it has the best chance of passing and so that I'm not taking it up to 4,500 rpm while it's cold (can't be good for it). At a recent trackday a new GT3RS failed the 105db static test when the engine was cold. After he'd warmed it up, it just crept under the limit on the second test.

Hi Steve,

yes it seams that a warm engine would make it through, I am also driving the car for long trips and after a few years and speacily at hight speed it gets a bit tiering,

I wonder what is the best and easy way, I have hurd of a tip that could be fited at the end that quiets it, and keep the performance almost the same, I am wonder if the money and the work of fiting a complit different system is realy worth the trouble ...

There is an exhaust tip made by Will Norman that replaces the normal tail pipe end piece. You'll find his contact details and pictures of it in this Rennlist thread:

The good thing is that you can put the insert in for static tests and then take it out because 964s are usually OK on the drive-by meters.

They're quite pricey - over £200 IIRC.

Hi Steve,

this is what I was thinking , cheaper than a full system and quickly revertable,
I hope it will brings noise level as if it was fited with the cup pipe only ... so I can hear that CD

I know Will , I will contact him

thanks for your advise

Konstantin
