Adrian Streather book recommends Porsche Tool 9204 or Hazet 2171-2 tool for oil filter removal a quick search of tinternet and I cant find either is there an equivalent tool or where could I go to get one ? Cost ?

I borrowed the genuine Porsche tool but it did not work, gave up and used a chain type filter tool instead. Especially on the filter in the centre of the engine which seems to get seriously stuck.

I bought mine from Halfords for the small filter. Laser: 14 flutes, 76mm - other maker would be as good. Can't remeber cost but cheap.

ORIGINAL: phelix

Tried one of the Laser versions - it just slipped. Resorted to oil filter pliers.

I've had no problems at all. Perhaps it wasn't put on properly? I use a car lift so fairly easy access to the small filter.
