Head Gasket Manifold Leak?

Nouveau

New member
There is a Drip size Leak From one bolt on the Manifold at the Head gasket end..Should this Be a worry ( a Possible fire starting) as the Dripping oil is burning from hot Pipe It only Last for a Minute..But...

Which bolt is the oil weeping from? Is it one of the bolts that attaches the exhaust mainifold headers to the cylinder head? or is it weeping from a bolt above that then dripping onto the exhaust manifold?

I had exactly this happen on my Lux and eventually so much smoke was produced from a tiny weep that it made the car undrivable and I had to get the garage to renew the gasket.
It is leaking from the joint above the manifold bolt but it is difficult to see it clearly and get to it. I had to use a dental mirror to see it.
I tried to smear all sorts of instant silicons and fillas etc along the joint but nothing stopped it.

Yes, The Bolt That joins the Exhaust to the cylinder head..Only one Bolt....
The Chap I bought it off did tell me that it was weeping.....

Well that is confusing as there is not a wet join there. It must be dripping down from somewhere above - maybe a split in your cam cover gasket? Can't imagine any circumstance where you'd be getting oil leaking out of your exhaust port??

I took a Pic of the Offending Bolt....
