Could anyone help me please. I am taking the car to the continent and need to change the head lights for driving on the right hand side. I have looked on ebay, Oscaro etc., and they are £800 for a pair!!!! Thank you. Kind regards

I think there is a switch at the rear of the light unit for left or right hand driving (check manual for head light adjustment), you will have to pop the light unit out, the tool to so should be in your tool kit.

Hi, I dont believe the early cars had the facility to switch the "beams". In these cases, you just need to apply the stick on headlamp kits, that you can buy for about £10 in Halfords.....

Cheers

Take a note of the shape on the kit and on subsequent trips you can make your own out of insulating tape - saved myself loads over the years :)

Have a look (unless you have already done so) at ebay.de

There is a pair on there at the moment for 290 euros.

I bought a pair from there last year. Didn't want the beam defectors welding themselves to the lenses.

Cheers,

My Boxster 981 & my son's Boxster 987 have the switch in the headlight unit to convert for Europe!

I know it doesn't help with yours being a 986 but if it does have a switch it's easy to do!
Headlight unit out, back off like you do to change a bulb & flick the switch accross, job done!

It's definitely a lot better than having sticky convertors on to remove on your return to the U.K!
