Head unit replacement

My gen 1 C4S does not have the ipod or Bluetooth connectivity but whilst surfing Ebay I stumbled on this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-2-SAT-NAV-GPS-Bluetooth-IPhone-TV-DVD-Player-for-PORSCHE-911-997-CAYMAN-BOXTER-/120939967888?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item1c28957590

Excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject but I wondered:

Will it work as a direct replacement to what I have at the moment?

Has anyone been brave enough to try one?

Would I be unwise to even contemplate looking?

The Pigeon English is a bit disconcerting, but let us know how you get on if you do decide to go for it.

Regards,

Clive.

If this is the real deal it could be the holy grail all PCM 2.1 owners have been searching for. And all for not much more than a Porsche map upgrade (£400).

Not the negative "dont do it" comments I was expecting. Price is good if the unit is as good as described.

I may have a chat with a local ICE specialist to get his opinion and will give an update.

Ive emailed a previous buyer on ebay who bought one for his cayenne to see if all was OK - as I noticed 2 have already sold
i'll let you know what he says

I am a bit worried seeing only 6 numbers for the telephone on the Merc units - however, if there is some evidence that the unit works from the previous buyers, I would definetely see it as the cheapest upgrade for us PCM2.1 sufferers.

Looking forward to hearing how you got on.

Hi all
The guy who'd bought one got back to me with this answer below
Basically DON'T BUT ONE!....
It did seem too good to be true didn't it

Dear S2RJN

Hi, It didn't work. I asked the seller to double and triple check with the manufacture and it seems that it is not compatible with PCM fiber optic system.

What a Bummer. I thought it was the answer. Thanks for taking it further. I hope the guy got his money back.
