Headlamp - Mainbeam

Hi Guys,

I have a problem which is annoying and I would like some help. The front offside pop-up headlamp on my 924S refuses to work on main beam. I have done the following:

Replaced the bulb
Taken the headlamp off and cleaned up all the connections
Cleaned up the earths on both sides where they connects to the chassis
Inspected the wiring loop for damage

Would one isolated function failure be due to the relay?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do next?

My guess would be the loom about 4 - 5 inches from the light.
The wires go brittle, look ok but dont work!
On mine it was the earth that went, but I replaced all of them.
 
Wot E sed. Pay particular attention to the point where the wire flexes as the pod closes. I had it on my first 924 and my old 944S, which I have to say was only six years old at the time.
