headlamp motor problem

I am able to lift the headlamps when I turn the lights on,however when I turn the lights off the headlamps will not close.
I have tried a doner relay and headlamp motor and this makes no difference the fuses are ok too.
Any ideas will be a big help thank you

Ok, there's two separate circuits and fuses one for up and one for down.

I would suggest that given they'll go up, that the wiring for the down circuit has been damaged - given that you've replaced/tried different motor and relay.

Coco don't mean to insult your intelligence here but you have checked both fuses? IIRC its number 37 for up and16 for down on an oval dash

yes checked fuses and all ok[:)]
cleaned up both headlamp earths today and hey-presto they work again

Oh don't talk to me about sunroof problems lol

Get yourself an early square dash like mine, with a 'keep fit' sunroof I have no such problems. I did find out in the heavy rain yesterday though that it's not totally waterproof but you cant have it all I guess! [:D]

Maybe if you had bought a really nice S2 then you wouldn't have that problem..............................................
