headlamp silver reflectors

Don't do this at home! Following some advice on the p-car.com site for DIY maintenance I cleaned the internal silver reflectors within the headlight with a lint free cloth only to find some of it came off .......... The lights are in excellent shape otherwise, is there anywhere I can buy the silver reflector rather than shell out for a new light or have them re-silvered?

Wow- that's unfortunate. Don't know the answer to your question - sorry.

But was the cloth dry? I've read that the silver is quite fragile and not to use any cleaning fluids on it - but did not realise it was that fragile (if your cloth was dry).

I disassembled mine about 18 months ago, cleaned inside of the lenses, but did not touch the silver.
 
Think yours must be dodgy. Just cleaned mine with cloth and Perfect It III and it was fine. I inage there must be a breakers with a smashed headlamp who'll sell the reflector only. Have you tried:
