Headlamp washer hose

I have a leaking headlight washer hose. When I fill up the reservoir water drips out under the car gradually. If I activate the headlamp washer switch, water will spray on one side only so I'm guessing its something simple like a split hose or a connection.
The only trouble I have is how do I get to the hose?
Do I need to drop the front bumper off?
Any tips will be greatfully received.

Thanks
Sian

Yes, if you take the front bumper off you can get to the hose. If you pull the bumper off too far the hose will pull off automatically as it's quite short and very stiff.

Find out what bit you need and let me know as I have some surplus from my front end 're-modelling'. As I say the hose is very hard (almost solid) and a real pig to push the barbed fittings into.

Thanks Phil,

I'm planning on dropping both bumpers off very soon so will let you know which bit it is!

Hi Nathan,

I still haven't got round to sorting this yet. I looked at it the other day and decided I really ought to try and fix it, maybe I'll give it a try this weekend!

Yes, when I fill it, it drips gradually, leaving a small pool overnight until its probably only 1/3 full. I got some bumper brackets a little while ago incase I damage them when I drop the bumper off, so I've no excuse not to give it a whirl really!

I've still got that hose with fittings Sian. It's yours if you ask.... [;)]

BTW there's no way you'll damage the bumper brackets?????

I'll post a pic to make sure we're talking about the same bit, then will have to arrange to get it to you. Watch this space.

Need anything else whilst you're at it [;)] >>> here <<<

It's about 3 foot long, hard plastic hose with t-piece and elbow at one end, nothing on other end (you'll need to find the other angled fitting) Do you want it all, just the fittings or none of it?

cheers, Phil

I assume you warmed the hose with hot water, makes it much more pliable and easy to push onto the connections.
Cheers,

Hi Nathan,

I had a day off so decided to finally tackle the front bumper yesterday afternoon. It seems I have every size socket except one that fits. Hopefully I'll pick one up on the way home and finally get this sorted before the end of the week!

Glad you managed so fix yours with relatively little hassle, this has made me more determined to get on and sort mine at last.

Sian

Hi sian, do you want the bits? see pic up there ^ somewhere. pm your address if you want them.
