Hello all, I've recently picked up an immaculate '90 S2 and am enjoying getting to grips with it. Unfortunatly the headlights are a real disappointment. I understand this is a standing gripe but I've noticed that the console mounted level adjuster does not work. Could anyone suggest a remedy or point me in the direction of the appropriate fuse? Thanks in advance.

There are manual screw adjusters on the headlamp itself, top RH corner adjusts left and right, bottom LH corner adjust up and down. The electrice adjuster is more to compensate for a heavy load in the boot (though onbviously it's nice if it's working.
The headlights are fine if they are in good order, but common causes of poor illumuination are:
1. Opaque lenses caused by 20 years of being hit by debris
2. Drop in voltage to the bulb caused by aging wiring
3. Dirty lenses because the car gets washed with the popups down.
Some Indies have there own upgrade harness which delivers the full battery voltage to the bulb by using relays and better wiring - this improves things dramatically
