headlight and indicator problems

Greetings ladies and gents
My 924S seems to have developed electrical problems as the left headlight does not seem to be getting any power despite the bulb being OK. Additionally, although the indicators flash inside the car the outside indicators don't.
Very grateful for any thoughts you may have on the problem or can point me towards an auto electrician you may have used before in the london area (nw).
Many thanks in anticipation
Shad

It is very llikely to be a broken wire. I have had this problem on three 924/944s. Look for a break where the loom bends the tightest.

You have checked the fuse haven't you?

Do the hazard flashers work?
Are all the indicators out, or is it one end, i.e. front or back?
If its the rear, do the tail lights work?
If yes then earth to cluster is good, check cleanliness of the individual connections.
If front, check earths, cheack wires connected behind the bumper.
Check the wattage and the lamps themselves. ( a bulb is something that grows in the ground.)

Not strictly true--Hyacinth bulbs grow very well at the top of glass containers well away from the ground--& light Bulbs are just as described-"bulb " shaped.

I thought if you can nitpick, then so can I.[:)]

If the lamp only illuminates in a 'dim-dip' fashion, then Id suspect that its an earth problem: another 924/944 bugbear. You can test this by running your own negative wire to ground (unless you have a very expensive mulitmeter, but if you had I doubt youd need our advice here [:D])

Many thanks for the tips gents
The autoelectrician traced the fault to the fusebox (not surprising) since the leaking battery compartment floor must have taken its toll over time until I had it fixed

My next question is
Can I fit a generic fuse box or does it have to be a genuine 924 one?

Thanks
Shad

Id speak to Paul at PHSportscars. Youll need the correct part and Id expect Paul to be most realistic on price.
