Headlight assembly

I have resently purchased new replacement plastic 'surround' that encapsulates the 944 headlights. This comes in two pieces, the front square shaped piece appears very simple to fit with just 1 screw holding it at the bottom, the other piece and fits to the bottom of the essembly appears slightly more probematic.

Can someone who has fitted these pieces please tell me whether I need to dismantle the headlight unit and if so what needs to come off?

Cheers

Advice - Before you mess with the headlights disconnect the battery. If the lights are triggered (on the offside on the motor end is a knob designed to let you manually raise/lower) for whatever reason you can lose a finger in the mechanism.

That is very true, I always remove the headlight motor fuse before working on the headlights, perhaps disconnecting the battery also will add some added security.

I have tried removing the lower surround today but I'm having difficulty getting it off in the limited space. I'm thinking I will have to remove the bar that the headlights pivot on and is driven by the motor, anyone know how this done?
