Headlight Bulbs UPGRADE

Elliot Davies

New member
Ive found that low beam on the S is a little poor due to the difusser infront of the bulb.

Has anyone here upgraded their bulbs to zenon or the like to improve this ?

PS. Im talking about normal not litronics

I agree with you Elliot that the low beam light isnt to good at night, I will upgrade to H7 Zenons and let you know the outcome.

Is it also the voices in your head that tell you to spell them 'Zenons', instead of 'Xenons', as the gas is really called ?

Me, pendantic ?

He has to talk to himself as everyone else is too dazzled by his bright lights [:D][:D][:D]

Are you sure they are aligned properly Elliot because normally I find Boxster lights pretty bright already (as they come towards me)

Paul,
Im almost certain the lights are set right, they are not to high or low, and i get no flashes from oncoming traffic.
There is a half round diffuser infront of the top half of the lens which is the low beam and im sure this takes a few candles out of the 55 watts as the high beam is fine.
Im going on a bulb shopping spree tomorrow to get some Xenons as ive used them before with greatly improved results

As a sensible suggestion, you could try Phillips Vision Plus bulbs. I have done so on my motorbikes & previous cars with good results & will do so on the Boxster, if the bulbs need replacing.
