Headlight bulbs

Hi,
Has anyone had the same problem (at least I think it's a problem) ?. I 've had my '02 986 for just over 3 years (now on 52k) and apart from a replacement header tank filler top and a loose wind deflector bracket, there have been no problems. Except that the dipped beam bulbs seem to go at regular intervals. I've changed 4 in the time I've had the car (2 each side). The last one I changed was about 4 weeks ago and the same one has just gone again.
Anyone got any ideas ? I think I may clean the housing or terminals this time before replacement, but will this make a difference ?
Any help appreciated.
