Headlight Bulbs

Hi. Having recently purchased a 2013 981 Boxster, although loving the car I’m very disappointed with the headlights. The bulbs give out a very poor light on dipped and main beam.
My question is whether it’s a fairly simple job to upgrade the bulbs. For example Halfords sell high performance bulbs. Has anyone fitted replacement higher intensity bulbs?

Higher performance lamps have a shorter life

Osram night breakers are well regarded
