Hi, I'm just fitting a new headlight loom from rayneautomotive, and in the instructions it says "Unplug and remove your ballast resistor to ensure correct functioning of the loom."
Any ideas where this lives ??

Well I fitted the same kit and never removed anything.... Plug and play I picked up the power from the Alternator[;)]

I had this fitted today to my s2 not that bad would be easier the second one you did fitted the live to the alternator and the lights seem a lot brighter will need to go out at night to test. The guy from eBay was really helpful got straight back when I had a question so he seems a stand up guy.

got straight back when I had a question so he seems a stand up guy. but what did he say? It seems that you asked the same question but didn't provide the answer :)

I asked about the battery in the rear he advised me to conect to the alternator but also said any other problems to contact him for help. Just got the feeling was not all about getting the money of me but wanted it to work as well doesn't sound much but you don't always get that

Well, I emailed them and they got straight back to me and said "Not all cars have the ballast resistor in them. The best bet is to fit the loom and check the funcitonality of the side lights. If they function correctly then you need not worry, " So, on with the fitting and see what occurs........

I bought one a couple of months back. Hopefully whoever I ask to fit it will know what to do! But I'm in no rush. I haven't driven the car in the dark in the 4 years I've had it, and haven't driven it at all (or even seen it) in the last three months.

Hi

Bit of an old thread this, I've fitted a uprated headlight wiring loom to my 944S / 1988 and have a problem with relay buzz.

Its nicely made but have found a slight problem with it's fitted now. So with the ignition switch to Position 2 (ie not Aux engine to run but not started) then turning the headlight switch to side lights i.e first clickI get relay buzz from the relays supplied with the uprated loom, this buzz is extremely quick the sound it makes is almost like a lights on reminder.

I've spoken with the guy and suspect I have fitted a Headlight Ballast resistor fitted....does anyone know where its located ??
