Headlight pivot bracket

Hi all,
My lights have recently stopped going up fully due to the passenger side headlight inner pivot breaking off. Does anyone know how I can get access to this to replace it? Do I need to remove the front nose panel and headlight unit?!

Thanks!

The thing to remember with a 944 is most jobs only take 10 minutes ..... after you have spent 2 hours removing all the bits you need to to get to the bit you are working on.

Assuming you don't have a trained mouse, if in doubt, start taking things off. Most are quite easy (once you have done it once). The badge panel isn't that difficult to remove once you establish where the hidden fixings are.

Sorry I can't be more helpful as it is a long time since I played in that area. As a point though - the headlamp motor has two fuses so (unless you can establish which ones they are) best disconnect the battery. There is an internal switch in the gearbox which can make the lamp pods move of their own accord; gives you quite a thrill first time it happens and you don't want your fingers, or trained mouse, in the way if it does.

So, in summary, if it looks like you might need to remove something for access; you will.

It's not that hard iirc. I think you just need a bit of dexterity up behind the wheel arch cover to get it done. Seem to recall doing one in about 20 minutes, was driver side right enough but sure it's same. Think a 10mm ring spanner is your friend.
