Hello all, has anyone used spare capacity in the front mounted relay board to install headlight relays. I know it's probably not the cheapest method but neat if it is a practical option. Any advice on how best to do this gratefully received. I assume 2 relays are needed, one for dipped beam and one for full beam.Thank you Tim

Headlight Relays

I fitted one of the JC West relay kits from Pelican Parts. It was very easy to fit, and well worked out. It wasn't that expensive, and doesn't look like an obvious add-on. Seems a shame to re-invent the wheel. If you really want to do it yourself, take a look at impactbumpers.com as there are a few threads about this, with some wiring diagrams.
They look like a standard square plug-in relay, but to be honest I haven't looked for replacements.
I got around to fitting headlight relays today using the JWest kit from Pelican, a couple of hours for a complete auto-electric novice. Slight variation on readings but the voltage at the lights increased from about 11 volts to slightly more than 12 volts, which should make a slight improvement in brightness. I'm fairly certain it is unconnected but I can now hear a low whirring sound with the ignition off, from within the dash. It might have been there before but I didn't notice but any thoughts appreciated. Thanks Tim
